European markets advance

European markets increased yesterday as news filtered through of easing inflation in China to 2.1% in March, down from 3.2% in February. US markets have also had a positive reaction in the opening hours of trading.

The ISEQ closed up 24.29 points to finish on 3,820.96.

The Irish financials were up slightly with all three banks having increases. AIB was up 0.1c to 6.7c, Bank of Ireland was up 0.4c to 15.6c and Permanent TSB also gained 0.4c to 3.5c. Insurer FBD closed in positive territory up 10c to €12.55.
