Bank to deploy mortgage specialists

Ulster Bank is aiming to lend €300m in mortgages as it rolls out specialist mortgage advisers across the country this month.

The bank will deploy 300 specialists as it attempts to make it easier for its customers to secure mortgages.

Managing director of branch banking, Jim Ryan, said that the specialists will help customers with questions about what is likely to be the biggest financial decision in their lives.

“We pride ourselves on helping our customers make the choice that is right for them. Ulster Bank has over 300 skilled specialists ready to help plan, explore products and options to suit customers’ needs, and to put them in a home that they will love.

“We encourage everyone looking to take the next step to talk to us during the ‘Big Mortgage Roll Out’.”

As part of the mortgage drive, the bank has simplified both pricing and product ranges as well as adding a mortgage calculator to its website.

The calculator will show customers their possible mortgage costs to see what kind of mortgage might best fit their budget, needs, and lifestyle.

Mr Ryan said customers with questions should contact their specialists.

“The specialists are there to discuss the options available to customers and to answer questions from, ‘what does APR mean?’, to ‘can I get a mortgage before I find my property’?”

The specialists can give customers an indication of how much they might be eligible to borrow, helping them to make an informed decision on the properties they can afford, he said.
