Bord Bia awards celebrate 180 leaders in horticultural sector

More than 180 horticulture leaders were represented at the Bord Bia National Amenity Horticultural Awards in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin.

The awards recognise and promote excellence across three key sectors of the industry, while celebrating dedication to the highest standards of operation. This year, Bord Bia awarded 36 garden centres, four ornamental growers, and 14 landscape service providers, which all achieved the standards of its quality assurance programmes.

The overall annual award winners were: Orchard Home and Garden, Cellbridge, Co Kildare (Large Garden Centre); Cois na hAbhann, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford (Small Garden Centre); SAP Landscapes, Maynooth, Co Kildare (Landscape Business); and Annaveigh Plants, Cashel, Co Tipperary (Ornamental Grower).

Griffins Garden Centre in Cork was selected for a special award in the Quality Awards section as 2013 Best New Entry. Customer service agents Meig Collins and Rachel McCarthy collected the awards.
