Online auction site Ebay has announced 450 jobs in its operations centre in Dundalk to service its European customer base.

They are in addition to the 1,000 jobs announced by PayPal last year, which are also located in Dundalk. The Ebay roles will be in customer services, sales, and compliance.

The senior director of Ebay customer experience for the UK, Ireland, and the rest of Europe, Gary Hagel, said the reason they were expanding in Ireland was the calibre of workers available here.
