The Irish coach tourism and transport council says that the Government’s decision to extend the essential users rebate to coaches will help save jobs and stabilise the industry.

In the publication of the Finance Bill the Department of Finance extended the fuel rebate to coaches, buses and most mini-buses.

Council chief executive Gerry Mullins said that the industry had faced a four-fold increase in fuel prices in the last 10 years.
