Greencore has given an upbeat outlook for its current financial year, after seeing good first quarter growth in its core convenience foods division.

Updating the market, yesterday, coinciding with its AGM, the Dublin-headquartered food giant said that its convenience foods unit generated revenues of just under £286m (€334m) during the three months to the end of December, a 2.5% year-on-year increase.

That was enough for the company to brand the quarter as “a satisfactory start to the year”.
