Q4 job openings up 6% in 2012

This was despite a marked slowdown in job availability in December, as illustrated by the latest edition of the monthly Irish Employment Monitor, from international recruitment specialist Morgan McKinley.

According to the report, last month showed a 2% year-on-year increase in the number of new professional jobs available. However, when measured against November, last month saw a 16% decline in job vacancies. Furthermore, the level of job seekers fell by 38% in December, compared to the previous month. On an annualised basis, December saw a 7% rise in the number of people entering the jobs market.
