Connacht Gold opens new markets with acquisition of organic brand

Connacht Gold has acquired the Organic for Us brand from The Different Dairy Company in Donegal for an undisclosed sum.

Connacht Gold also acquired Donegal Creameries’ milk business earlier this year. The Sligo-based co-op employs 726 people in 52 locations across the west and north-west. It has 1,000 milk suppliers in 10 counties and exports dairy products to 20 countries.

This brand acquisition allows the co-op to reach new organic markets and consumers. The Different Dairy Company will focus on building its Rumblers brand in Ireland, and its UK businesses Chef in a Box Ltd and Bio Green Dairy Ltd.

Based at An Grianan, Co Donegal, the Organic for Us brand was a gold medal winner at the 2011 Blas na hÉreann awards.
