Reeling in Riverdance profits, 18 years on

The creative forces behind Riverdance, John McColgan and Moya Doherty, still reap the benefits of the show.

Eighteen years after Riverdance was conceived as a seven-minute-long interval show at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, figures show that the married couple behind the entertainment phenomenon shared remuneration of €1.45 million last year.

This follows remuneration to the directors in 2010 totalling €2.5m.
