€2m cash and carry ‘a vote of confidence’ in South-East

Musgrave has officially opened its €2m Marketplace cash and carry outlet in Waterford.

It employs 70 staff and covers 56,000 sq ft, making it the largest cash and carry in the South-East with a range of 15,000 products.

The premises will also offer a new online ordering service, the first of its kind in Ireland, which will launch at the end of the month.

Musgrave Marketplace managing director Noel Keeley said the outlet demonstrated the company’s commitment to the South-East.

“Our latest investment in the Marketplace network is a vote of confidence in Waterford, the brand, our team here on the ground, and our customers both locally and across the region. We now have a Marketplace cash and carry that really showcases our brand essence of ‘first for value, first for choice and first for service’. Ensuring we offer our customers the best in value, the widest, most appropriate ranges and unparalleled customer service.”

The facility will also allow Musgrave to launch new ranges into the region, such as a meat-cutting service and freshly baked breads.

It also offers a tailored range of products to reflect the changing trends in the market, including products sourced directly from the Far East for Asian restaurants, returnable glass bottles and kegs for the pub trade, and party food for hotels and caterers.
