Sealed bids on Fota Island Resort

An Irish consortium of buyers is among the handful of bidders who have made the final cut on offers for the Fota Island resort, which is likely to make €20m for Nama.

Those making the final five or six sealed bids in the past few days include a Cork/Dublin consortium headed by Irish golfer John McHenry, and including the Hanratty family of hoteliers.

There is also a cash bid from the Isle of Man-based investment firm Bramden, and strong interest from Thai golf investor Andrew Yau.
