Event powered solely by renewable energy

Huge amounts of hot air are often generated at conferences, but agathering in Killarney, Co Kerry, was run entirely on real wind yesterday.

The Irish Wind Energy Association’s (IWEA) autumn conference, in the tourist town’s INEC, was the first ever large-scale event in Ireland to be powered exclusively by wind energy.

The energy came from a windfarm and was arranged through GoldPower, a renewable energy label which sources power from renewable electricity projects in developing countries.
