Audio player firm In Hand Guides has secured a €400,000 investment from Kernel Capital via the Bank of Ireland seed and early stage equity fund, and Enterprise Ireland.

Cork-based In Hand Guides hand-held audio players deliver up to four hours of personalised multilingual content to customers in the tourism, health and lifestyle and public advocacy sectors. Its technology was developed at the Nimbus Centre at Cork Institute of Technology.

Chief executive Trevor Winckworth, said: “This funding is both a vote of confidence and an important source of revenue to fund both growth and employment. Along with the excellent support we receive from Enterprise Ireland, we are now turning our attention to a major export drive to develop our offering, which has huge potential internationally.”
