Medical tech sector upbeat on future

The medical technology sector in Ireland is increasingly confident about the future of its business according to a survey, published to mark the launch of Medical Technology Industry Excellence Awards 2012.

There has been nearly 10% growth in confidence in the sector with 78% of medical technology companies in Ireland revealing they have confidence in their own business, an increase of 8%. Some 60% of companies are positive about the business environment.

IMDA director Sharon Higgins said the sector had been one of the key job creators in Ireland, driving a huge amount of investment in the country.
