Weaning Irish banks off the Eligible Liabilities Guarantee scheme; driving down deposit rates, kickstarting the supply of credit, and the introduction of the Insolvency Bill, are all key to restoring banks to profitability.

This is according to Davy Stockbrokers research analyst Emer Lang.

The banks are on their way to meeting EU/IMF imposed deleveraging targets, which means the focus has turned towards returning the banks to profitability, says Ms Lang.
