Brittany Ferries suspended its services between Ireland, Britain, France, and Spain yesterday following a series of wildcat strikes by French employees.

Among the ferries cancelled were the route between Cork and Roscoff. Others affected included routes from Plymouth and Portsmouth in Britain to Roscoff, Caen, Cherbourg and Saint-Malo in France and to Bilbao in Spain.

The strikes erupted last week as employees disrupt the company’s plans to cut costs by reducing salaries and the number of crossings.
