A €14m wind farm began turning its turbines yesterday along the Cork-Kerry border, generating clean energy for the region.

€14m wind farm could supply 9,000 homes

The Caherdowney wind farm is operated by Energia Renewables, and is owned by Energia Renewables and the Irish Infrastructure Fund.

At full capacity, the wind farm can churn out 9.2MW of renewable electricity, enabling it to provide enough power for more than 9,000 homes.
