‘Extras’ income soars to €18bn

Income from extras like baggage charges and credit card fees have soared by 66% for airlines over the past two years to over €18.2bn.

‘Extras’ income soars to €18bn

A survey which examined the financial results of 50 international airlines that publish data on their ancillary revenues reveals that Ryanair is one of the top 10 earners, generating €886.2m in revenue from “extras” in 2011.

Ryanair is the seventh highest earner in terms of ancillary revenue, behind United Continental in first place with over €4.1bn.
