Pre-tax profits at the Irish arm of international courier firm TNT Express last year dropped by 36% to €2.6m.

Accounts lodged with the Companies Office show TNT Express (Ireland) Ltd recorded the drop in pre-tax profits after revenues fell by 6.4%, from €43.59m to €40.79m, in the 12 months to the end of December.

Numbers employed at the Dutch-owned Dublin-based firm last year fell from 237 to 211.
