Ireland’s trade surplus third highest among EU states in Q1 of 2012

Ireland had the third highest trade surplus among the 27 EU member states from January to April, according to Eurostat.

Ireland had a trade surplus of €13.4bn over the four-month period compared with €16.2bn for the Netherlands and €59.3bn for Germany.

The UK had the highest deficit at €51.8bn, followed by France and Spain.
