Bloxham closure could affect ISE

Bloxham was one of the founders of the Irish Stock Exchange along with six other firms. The country’s oldest stockbroker was ordered to cease trading last week after the Central Bank discovered irregularities.

Bloxham provided a guarantee to the Irish Stock Exchange, but since the Central Bank’s probe into the stockbroker’s and the sale of its asset management and private client business, Bloxham is no longer able to act as a guarantor.
