Alltech develops natural nutritional alternative to boost crop yields

Animal health and nutrition company Alltech is applying its animal nutritional technology to crop science with a yeast-fuelled alternative to conventional agrochemicals.

The Crop Science division of Kentucky-based Alltech, which has a large operation in Dunboyne, Co Meath, is applying natural nutrition technologies developed for animals to address production of “citrus to silage and everything in between”.

Alltech Crop Science chief executive Geoff Frank said: “Consumers are increasingly discerning in their food choices, and are asking for more natural products.
