Two accountancy firms in Munster annouce merger

Cork-based accountancy firm Quintas has merged with DMB & Co chartered accountants in Mallow, Co Cork, its second such merger in recent months.

Quintas is one of Munster’s leading providers of business and personal finance advice.

DMB & Co specialises in business start-ups, finance, business planning, systems implementation and corporate restructuring.

In February, Quintas also merged with Kerry accountants Casey & Co.

Quintas managing partner Tim McCarthy said: “We recognise the business necessity of building our network of clients and business contacts and this merger with DMB & Co has assisted us to achieve that.

“We are looking forward to working with Yvonne, her team and their existing clients, and I am confident that, together, our new enhanced team will work well in providing an exceptional service to our clients.”

DMB & Co’s principal partner, Yvonne Barry, said: “I have been conscious for some time of changes in the commercial and industrial field due to the increasing complexity of changing legislation and regulatory requirements.

“It is imperative for professional advisers to offer a specialised and sophisticated service.

“With this in mind, I enthusiastically welcome the opportunity provided by this merger.”

Ms Barry is due to join the Taoiseach Enda Kenny to speak at a Stability Treaty Breakfast Meeting for Women Voters, which is taking place at 8am today at the Imperial Hotel, Cork.
