Weddings by Franc cash-pile falls
According to abridged accounts filed by the Peter Kelly-controlled company, accumulated profits in the 12 months to the end of June last year also reduced by €121,285 or 17% from €684,654 to €563,369.
Wedding planner Mr Kelly — through his Franc persona — is currently attracting 380,000 viewers with his RTÉ series, Franc’s DIY Brides.
The drop in accumulated profits at the Cork-based firm continued the trend of fiscal 2010, when accumulated profits dropped by 16% from €813,176 to €684,654.
As Weddings by Franc is a small company, it is not required to show revenues for the year or whether it recorded a profit or loss.
The figures reveal that while the firm’s cash-pile declined last year, its debtors increased from €119,097 to €301,194. The company did not pay any corporation tax last year. Shareholder funds totalled €563,469.
Franc’s profile has continued to increase in recent years. The Corkman was employed as creative designer for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Cork City last year.
Franc’s television shows have aired on BBC, Sky TV and in Australia.
Mr Kelly declined to be interviewed yesterday.
