Market research centre opens to support exporters

A market research centre designed to support Irish companies in developing their stake in the export market has opened at Enterprise Ireland.

Market research centre opens to support exporters

The centre at East Point, Dublin 3, has been designed to provide established and potential exporters with access to an extensive set of market research resources. The resources include subscription-based market intelligence databases and leading international periodicals, as well as market and sectoral reports.

Outlining the service, Deirdre McDonough, manager of the Market Research Centre, said: “Sound and comprehensive market intelligence is the critical foundation of every company’s exporting plans. It enables them to test their market proposition, understand the characteristics of individual overseas markets and gain competitive advantage.”

The service will be available to all Enterprise Ireland client companies, who will also have access to a team of market research specialists.

Enterprise Ireland had previously provided a library for clients with extensive resources and personnel on hand, but the new facility has been introduced to provide self-service access to a greater number of clients.

The new market research centre complements Enterprise Ireland’s “Get Export Ready” range of practical supports to help more businesses to develop export plans. It is also geared towards more established exporters who are growing sales in new and existing markets.

“This greater knowledge helps companies to hone their export strategy and identify opportunities to increase their potential for success in overseas markets which will support and grow their business back home,” said Ms McDonough.
