The Continental Farmers Group has been given anti-monopoly approvals in Ukraine for its joint venture sugar project with ED&F Man Holdings Ltd.

Eastern European-based CFG, which is one quarter owned by Irish agri-food business Origin, has sugar operations in more than 40 countries. Its main agricultural crops are in the Ukraine and Poland.

& The joint venture provides for the long-term production and supply of sugar beet to ED&F Man’s sugar refinery in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. All sugar beet output from the joint venture’s operations will be sold to ED&F Man under a long-term agreement.
