Gowan appoints Croplink as its potato blight fungicide distributor

Based in Ballyvaughan, Co Clare, Croplink is a specialist distributor to the Irish arable sector.

Croplink managing director Jim Droney said: “Integrating Electis into any blight control programme will add to the overall effectiveness of blight control and increase marketable yield. Potato blight control in Ireland has always been a challenge, more so with changing blight populations and more aggressive blight races.

“Growers rely on effective blight fungicides used from planting through to harvest and applied at tight spray intervals. The end result is only as good as the weakest product in the programme, so it makes absolute sense to use effective robust fungicides such as Electis.”

Dr Dominic Lamb, UK and Ireland business manager for Gowan, said: “Electis offers highly effective control of foliar, stem and tuber blight as well as a bonus effect on Alternaria or early blight.”

From a practical viewpoint Electis is highly rainfast, making it more flexible to use in irrigated crops and in showery weather.
