The Irish internet domain registry is, for the second year, offering SMEs the chance to tap into its €100,000 website development fund, Optimise.

The fund will provide 10 businesses with €10,000 worth of consultation, training and e-commerce development support services to improve their online presence. Key areas to be supported include real-time payment options, an online catalogue, order processing and booking facilities.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said helping businesses expand online was part of the Government’s plan to create jobs. “A key part of the Government’s strategy for jobs and growth is to encourage businesses to adopt innovative business practices to help them survive and grow in these difficult times.
