The level of activity in the construction sector has dropped by €30bn since 2006. From a high of 269,000 in 2007, the numbers employed in the sector plummeted by more than 160,000.

The meltdown in construction and the potential opportunities for Irish workers in Britain are among the issues to be discussed at a special meeting hosted by the Construction Federation Industry (CIF) next week.
