Veterinarians from the North and the Republic are gathering to discuss strategies to safeguard consumer health at the One Island, One Health conference later this month.

Veterinary Officers’ Association president James Casey said: “Outbreaks such as avian influenza, Sars and BSE remind us that human and animal health are intimately connected through the ecosystems in which we live and the interfaces between humans and animals.
