Skoczylas loses bid for immediate appointment to board of IL&P

A company director who was voted on to the board of Irish Life & Permanent Group Holdings lost his court bid yesterday to force the company to immediately complete his appointment.

But counsel for IL&P Holdings, Brian Murray SC, told the court the company is willing to concede that Piotr Skoczylas can attend board meetings and speak at them until his appointment is completed, after he does a special course on Irish retail banking as set down by the Central Bank.

The court heard Mr Skoczylas will not be able to vote until he has completed the training, which starts in April.
