Brophy appointed at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

Former Connacht Gold executive Helen Brophy has joined her alma mater, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, as director of executive education.

This is Ms Brophy’s second significant switch in just over 12 months, having taken up her role as head of consumer foods with Connacht Gold in January 2011. Prior to this, she had been chief executive of the National Dairy Council, a role she had held since 2007.

Her other roles in a fast-moving career include senior roles with Bord Iascaigh Mhara and food company HJ Nolan in Dublin. She also retains her role as a non-executive director of Self-Help Africa.

This latest role marks a career shift from agri-food to education. She will have direct responsibility for the management and strategic development of executive education.

The Smurfit school designs programmes for executives and senior management which will have a lasting impact on their organisations.

Ms Brophy will lead an executive education team of seven, supporting a world-class faculty, delivering programmes to more than 1,200 executives on an annual basis.
