€20m acquisition of Integral Computers by market leader

One of Britain’s leading accountancy software groups, Sage Pay, has acquired Dublin-based payments’ company Integral Computers Ltd for €20 million.

The acquisition marks Sage Pay’s entry into the “cardholder present” market in the Britain and Ireland and will allow them to provide a multi-channel payment services through one central solution.

Sage Pay currently work with over 36,000 businesses providing both e-commerce and mail/telephone order solutions.

Integral Computers Ltd card- holder solutions are used at over 30,000 points-of-sale in the Britain and Ireland with transaction values of €5 billion.

Sage Pay said that the acquisition of Integral will enable them to integrate present cardholder solutions with its current e-commerce gateway to provide connected multi-channel services.

The accountancy software group said it will also enable customers to accept card payments wherever they run their business — be it online, in-store, at a trade show or from a market stall.

Both Sage Pay and Integral said they have experienced an increase in merchants seeking a single payment processing supplier that can support their website as well as their physical retail presence.
