Subway targets 6,000 new jobs in Ireland and Britain expansion plans

The company said it is targeting 600 new stores in Britain and Ireland by 2015, creating about 6,000 jobs. The chain has around 1,500 outlets in Britain and Ireland. Its Irish suppliers include Dawn Farm Foods, whose €700 million contract to supply the chain up until 2017 attracted a lot of attention at its launch.

“We find no matter what country we’re in, if we hit the right economic notes and appeal to the mass market, we’re able to build the business very, very rapidly,” Subway’s president and founder Fred DeLuca told Reuters.
