Aspiring entrepreneurs put to the test

THE 24-hour Entrepreneur Experience event is looking for aspiring entrepreneurs eager to fast track ideas into real opportunities.

Aspiring entrepreneurs put to the test

It is the second year of the event, developed by CorkBIC, which hopes to encourage growth and deliver jobs.

Organisers invite people to apply for one of 21 places, from start-up firms to investor-ready companies, to companies that want to scale and grow. These emerging entrepreneurs will then get an opportunity to meet up to 30 of Ireland’s most successful business leaders where they receive coaching and advice.

The seasoned entrepreneurs in attendance include Bill Liao of XING; Fred Karlsson of Donedeal.ie; Grainne Kelly of Bubblebum; Kevin O’Leary of Qumas; and Jim Barry of Barry Group.

The event will involve pairing up aspiring entrepreneurs with seasoned entrepreneurs. On the second day the new entrepreneurs will have the chance to pitch ideas for investment.

CorkBic marketing chief executive Fionnuala Wall said it is an exceptional opportunity for new entrepreneurs based in Ireland or abroad.

“This event is not for the faint hearted and is an amazing opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs to gain unparalleled access to some of Ireland’s most successful business leaders,” Ms Wall said.

Applications are currently being accepted until the Friday, February 3, via the CorkBIC website.

The event takes place on March 30 and 31 at the Trident Hotel, Kinsale, Co Cork.
