Market gains for sixth straight day
Most of the world’s main stockmarkets wound down early for Christmas yesterday.
The share values of top Irish companies such as CRH, Diageo, Readymix, Tesco Ireland and Merrion Pharmaceutical all stayed as they had been 24 hours earlier.
There was some price movement with Irish Continental having a 2% lift to €15. Paddy Power had a similar seasonal lift of around 2.4% to €43.57, Ryanair rose 1.21% to €3.76, while Aer Lingus dipped 1.68% to 0.64c by close of trading.
