Microelectronics set to create 2,000 jobs

THOUSANDS of jobs are to be created in the microelectronics industry.

This news comes as US firm ON Semiconductor said it plans to invest €13 million to expand its design centre in Limerick for research and development.

The investment is expected to generate 69 new jobs.
