GROWTH in Ireland may have slowed due to the recession, but Kerry company DCS Energy Savings aims to take advantage of opportunities in the British market to increase sales by 20% this year.

Offering energy management solutions which allow companies to track energy usage, identify wastage and adapt behaviour accordingly, DCS Energy is now targeting both the construction industry and the retail market in Britain.

DCS Energy managing director Donal Sugrue says that growth in sales in energy-saving technology in Britain is being fuelled by increasing energy prices as well as government measures. “The UK is planning to cut CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020 and by 50% by 2050 and it is introducing levies on energy consumption,” he reveals.
