Roscommon Herald goes compact

AFTER 152 years publishing as a broadsheet newspaper, the Roscommon Herald next Tuesday joins the long list of other regional and national titles in making the transition to compact size.

Chief executive Brian Nerney said: “The decision wasn’t taken lightly. We are no strangers to change here in the Herald and our ability to change is the reason we are one of the more successful regional newspapers in the country.

“In the last year or so we have undertaken face-to-face research, conducted reader panels and questionnaires in relation to reader preferences and we were amazed how many favoured the easier-to -handle size of a compact newspaper,” Mr Nerney said.
