Networking group generates €1m in business over 1 year
The University Chapter of Business Networking International Cork, which meets in the County Hall each Wednesday morning, succeeded in generating sales and new business for their fellow members by promoting each other through word of mouth and referrals.
The group is made up of local businesses and trades, including a photographer, architect, solicitor and carpenter, who work together and support each other to build their businesses.
“There is simply no arguing with the BNI strategy, you reap what you sow. I have been a member of the University Chapter for over two years and have come to realise that there is no end to the yield word-of-mouth networking can offer when you decide to make it work for you,” said chapter director, Brendan Mehegan, of Brendan Mehegan Painting Contractors.
Sandra Hart, executive director of BNI Ireland South and West, added: “This is a fantastic achievement by the university. They have proven that by working together and supporting each other they can ward off the recession and continue to build their business…
“We have many successful chapters throughout Cork and the south and west and we welcome all business people to come to a meeting as a guest.”
