GRAIN growers should hold out for prices that reflect global markets which are steadily rising, advises IFA national grain committee chairman Noel Delany.

Mr Delany has warned growers not to be conned into accepting low prices for this year’s grain as world markets continue to strengthen. With harvest under way, a number of trade players are already attempting to talk down prices.

Mr Delany said: “Growers need to remain vigilant as prices move on a daily, if not hourly, basis. It is important to check out prices before making a decision and not be talked into off-loading grain below its market value.
