New York: Google’s new social networking service may grow to claim 22% of online US adults in a year, passing Twitter and LinkedIn to be the second most used social site after Facebook, a survey found.

Google+ hot on the heels of Facebook

Google+ has signed up 13% of US adults and will add 9% over the next year, according to the Bloom-berg/YouGov poll. In the same period, Facebook will fall two percentage points to 69% of US adults.

Started in late June, Google+ is growing faster than Facebook and MySpace did in their early days. The service has gained 25 million users worldwide in less than a month. Facebook has 750 million active users.
