Global rapeseed production to fall 1.5% as European output declines

GLOBAL rapeseed production will fall 1.5% in the 2011-12 marketing year on a decline in the EU, Oil World said.

World output will drop to 59.1 million metric tons from 59.98m tons in the prior period, the Hamburg-based researcher said.

EU output will slide 8.3% to 18.88m tons as usage declines 3.6%, it said. Wet weather delayed EU harvesting. Chinese output will fall 4.9% to 11.6m tons, the report showed.
