Suppliers offered retail chain access
Musgrave are inviting “small local Irish suppliers to Superquinn who have been impacted by events of the past week” to “discuss possible opportunities to access the Musgrave network”.
Musgrave said it understands both the cashflow challenges and the fears for the sustainability of the businesses impacted by the developments at Superquinn.
Musgrave said the small supplier access initiative will focus on credit terms, forward purchasing commitments and advice and support on leveraging Musgrave’s entire brand network of stores and market footprint.
Musgrave Group CEO Chris Martin said: “While Musgrave does not own the Superquinn business, we will endeavour to doas much as we can to assist any small Irish suppliers that are negatively impacted by this process.
“We understand the immediacy of the challenges certain small suppliers are facing. To that end, we will now engage with any small Irish supplier who wishes to meet with us, to understand the challenges they are faced with, and to provide all possible assurances around continuity of supply in the longer term and in the short-term access to our retailer network.
“We are also in ongoing contact with large suppliers who, like smaller suppliers, will be given the opportunity to continue to supply Superquinn once we complete its purchase which is subject to Competition Authority approval.”
Musgrave have established a team which small Superquinn suppliers can contact via telephone or by email, with a view to discussing opportunities to supply the Musgrave network.
* The contact details are as follows: Suppliers are asked to either email group@musgrave.ie or ring on lo-call 1890 80 40 49. This number is available from today, from 9am-5pm.
