Freight firm forecasts further growth

THE Independent Express Group — one of Ireland’s leading freight and logistics service providers — has forecast further growth, saying that its turnover for the current year should rise by about €2 million, to €18m.

The group, which oversees successful brands The Pallet Network (TPN) and Independent Express Cargo, yesterday announced a total group turnover of €16.1m for 2010 — the third consecutive year in which it has seen year-on-year revenue growth.

In addition to that, the group & has seen a 9% to date year-on-year increase in activity for 2011. The group employs just over 50 people at its headquarters in Blanchardstown.

“The company’s positive financial results show that our business strategy is on the right track and that our investment in new technologies, more efficient infrastructure and our new logistics division is paying off,” said group managing director Seamus McGowan.
