120 firms support researchers

POSTGRAD and post-doctoral researchers are being supported by 120 companies ranging from large multinationals to small indigenous firms under a scheme whose latest phase was launched by Research and Innovation Minister Sean Sherlock.

Almost 300 researchers have already taken part in the enterprise partnership scheme, jointly funded by the firms themselves and the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology.

Firms bringing in researchers include global names like Intel Ireland, Microsoft, Boston Scientific and the world’s largest adhesives company, Henkel.
