Ecommerce fund for SMEs launched

THE IE Domain Registry (IEDR) — the body that manages registration for Irish internet addresses — has launched a €100,000 ecommerce website development fund.

It is calling on SMEs to lodge applications for the fund, with the best 10 applications getting €10,000 to spend on upgrading their ecommerce facilities.

The move follows on from IEDR recently warning of a lack of sole traders and SMEs having ecommerce functionality.
