Irish whiskey sales grow 10% annually
Now some of the biggest players in the drinks industry, Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Grants and Cooley Distillery are coming together for a celebration of Irish Whiskey at Whiskey Live Dublin, the international whiskey exhibition which will be held in Dublin for the very first time on May 14. Irish whiskey is heading for global sales of five million cases in 2011. That figure is predicted to rise to 6.5 million cases by 2015.
Pernod Ricard through Irish Distillers recorded a rise in sales of 18% with Jameson passing the three million case mark for global sales in 2010. Jameson saw double digit growth in 49 US states with an average growth of 27% last year.
