Specsavers invests €1m in Ireland

Bandon: Specsavers is marking its 20th anniversary in Ireland by investing nearly €1 million in the retail sector, including three new store openings since the beginning of the year in Swords, Portlaoise and Bandon. It brings the total number of Specsavers stores in Ireland to 39.

The new stores have created more than 20 jobs, in addition to the directors’ positions. The chairman of Specsavers in Ireland Sean McCauley said: “The way things are going we could well be looking for more staff as the year unfolds. That’s a great position to be in from a business perspective, but I’m also glad that we’re bringing some positive news to towns around the country.”
