A survey of 613 Irish CIOs, IT directors and IT mangers found that, of those interested in desktop virtualisation, 63% will implement a project in 2011. Only 15% had no desktop virtualisation project in mind.
Cutting costs is their main driver, while many also want to migrate to Windows 7. A similar survey in Britain has seen a jump from 35% in 2009 up to 82% in 2010 planning virtualisation projects in the near future.
